In our “We were made for this: Part I” blog post, we discussed how ServiceMaster by Stratos was made for a time such as this because of the tailored business approach we have always offered to our customers. For part II, we wanted to share how our internal team is navigating this season as they live out our core values every day. Those values are to seek to honor God in all we do, help our people develop, excel with customers and grow profitability. We at Stratos live by these objectives, and in doing so, are naturally focused on three prerequisites for success – respect for people, dignity of the human spirit and greater quality of life for all.

Helping our people develop is one of the four values that has further proven we were made for a time such as this. We strive to improve the personal AND professional lives of our team members by investing in them holistically. The Stratos team and our life coach are on a mission to not only serve our customers, but serve our service partners, as well, because if we can’t meet their needs, they will not be able to meet the needs of those they serve. The team works closely with service partners, helping them overcome a wide range of obstacles that we all have experience in our daily life, but are especially pressing right now. What our people have learned and continue to learn through these mentoring relationships has helped them navigate the difficult waters COVID-19 has presented.

Moreover, the pandemic, which has dispersed most workforces, has not affected how we communicate and invest in our team members, which is such a blessing. Stratos is the logistical people business. We have always and will always have a dispersed workforce because our team services more than 9 million square feet across the Mid-South. Consistent and intentional communication is and always has been the key to the health of our organization, and oftentimes to the health of our service partners. Whether it is phone calls, text messages, newsletters, internal portals or the cherished face-to-face interactions, we take every opportunity presented to engage with our service partners.

We are in a people business, so investing in our people is at the forefront of all we do, pandemic or not. We think it’s safe to say that no one was fully prepared for what COVID-19 has brought us all, but we at Stratos haven’t crumbled under the pressure because of the way the entire organization lives out our core values each and every day. It is our prayer that we will all come out on the other side of this challenging season as stronger individuals – both personally and professionally.
